sketchbook with heavier grade paper
gesso (this prevents paint from going through the paper)
paints, any grade will do, the more colours the better if you like glitter then grab what makes you happy
pencils, pens, felt tips (all optional)
craft glue
magazines, pictures, stamps, fabric, lace, stencils (all optional).
Collage type imagery is great if you don’t feel you have enough art skills, but it is worth dabbing a bit of paint about for the simple reason it is fun. A return to childhood in a way, where expressing through putting colour and marks on paper can only draw out any deep feelings that lurk just below the surface to cause issues.
